When I visited Jurong Bird Park earlier in August, the playground was still under construction and there was no proper nursing room. Last week, I visited again and was surprised that the playground was open and, as I had hoped, there is a spanking new nursing room available now! WOOHOO~~!!
First, let’s look at the playground. There are wet and dry play areas.
The dry play areas are quite low and suitable for young toddlers. (There are some separate stuff for older kids, but I didn’t go and take a look.)
They have baby swings here! The kind that totally surrounds the kid so you can put young babies who are able to sit up on their own in. (For older kids, no worries, there is a separate row of ‘normal’ swings for them.)
You can see from MF’s face that he STILL hate swings… So out of the swing he comes.. and he heads for his favourite activity boards!
There is another row of activity boards closer to the wet area that is much more fun.. It is made up of 3 boards that make different musical sounds. The one of the right reminds me of the ‘harp’ at the playground at Changi Airport Terminal 3. The blue one is really cool, there are 3 bells and you knock the musical notes against the round thing to sound them. The red one has drums, but MF is too short to reach them.
The wet play area is really fun and cool (though I didn’t try it out, but it looks really fun). Lots of stairs, slides and buckets of water splashing down from time to time.
Looks harmless.. But wait till the BIG bucket tips over!
COOL… But I sure wouldn’t want MF to be at the bottom when that happens! To be on the safe side, you may want to let your little ones waddle around the wading pool, with water squirting out all over:
The next time I come to Jurong Bird Park, I’m so going to bring MF’s swim stuff along!
