Update (Nov 2016): Please note that the playgrounds at Northpoint are currently undergoing renovation.
Northpoint has a play area for young children, located at the 4th floor. However, note that if you want to access the play area, you can only use the lift / escalators at the old wing (where Macdonalds / Swensen’s / Starbucks is.) The lift and escalators at the new wing (where Xin Wang / Bakerzin is) will bring you to the library at the 4th floor instead. (And vice versa, if you want to go to the library, please go to the new wing. I can’t count the number of times I am at the play area and confused shoppers ask me where the library is.)
The dry play area at Northpoint is great for babies and young toddlers. Unlike most playgrounds that have tall structures for older kids, the playground here has several soft foam characters for very young kids to run and climb around.. MF has been playing here since he was 3 months old! The dry play area is for children below 110cm only.
Here are photos of MF playing when he was a toddler:
For older kids, hop over to the wet play area just beside the dry play area for some splashing good fun.
The security guards constantly patrol the play areas to ensure that only children are playing at the play areas and will not hesitate to chase out teenagers or adults using the area to lounge. They will also ensure everyone adheres to the rules, such as no food / drink and no footwear.
Also note that the play areas are outdoors, though the dry play area is sheltered. However, when there is rain or lightning, the play areas will be closed.
