Yesterday, MY and his fellow just-turned-2 and going-to-turn-2 friends had a combined birthday party at Fun N Laughter indoor playground, located at City Square Mall.  If you have never been there, read this post for my detailed review of the playground.

Experience of Party at Fun N Laughter

PARTY TIME!! Before I begin, let me state upfront that this party was sponsored by Fun N Laughter who provided us free use of their playground and party rooms and entry for the two year olds.  We did, however, pay normal admission fees for the elder siblings.  We had around 30 two year olds and 10 elder siblings plus around 50 adults attending the party.  This was way over their usual party capacity so they closed the playground for us to use exclusively.

They had two party rooms which were divided by a sliding door.  They opened the divider between the two rooms for us to form one large L-shaped room.

Since most of the kids were two year olds, we were initially worried that the playground which focused on active play may not be very suitable for our kids.  We worried for nothing, all the kids had lots of fun! There was so much to keep them occupied: Toys and interactive projector games in the party room, the toddler ball pit, the slide and the trampoline were all very suitable for the young ones!

I didn't show this ball swing in my earlier post because MY was too young to play with it. It was very popular with the elder siblings.

During the party, the staff went around to play with the kids and made sure everyone was playing nice and orderly.

The playground coped pretty well with the crowd, considering the large number of people we had.  It was not as packed and chaotic as I expected it to be with close to 100 people inside.

When it was time for cake-cutting, the staff rearranged the tables and chairs in the bigger party room to make space for all of us to crowd inside.

Once everything was set up, we gathered all the kids in.  Let the chaos begin!

Amazingly, we managed to take a group photo! Oopsie, the kids at the sides got cropped off.. Forgot to switch my camera to wide-angle mode before passing it to the staff.. My bad.

And somehow, everyone managed to find a spot to sit and eat the cake.

And at the end of the party, all the kids went home with a Fun N Laughter balloon.

Everyone had a blast at the party at Fun N Laughter! I think the main problem we had during the party was with storage of all our *super bulky* diaper bags.  They had storage cupboards at the playground entrance but many of us didn’t know they were there.  Even if we knew, some of us didn’t feel safe leaving our things outside.  Since it was an exclusive party, we just left our bags in the party room this time, but at other times it wouldn’t have been safe to do so.  We have given our feedback to them and hopefully we can see lockers at Fun N Laughter in future.

Thank you Fun N Laughter for generously sponsoring our bash! :)

Party at Fun N Laughter Package Details

(Updated 5 May 2015:  Change in Fun N Laughter Party Package prices.)

Fun N Laughter offers two types of Party Packages: Classic Package and Standard Package.

Classic Packages

Classic Packages are no-frills packages (i.e. no food, goodie bags nor decoration included).

Package A was $350 $360 for 10 kids (and $28 for each additional kid) and included the use of the smaller party room only (the one with the interactive projector games).  If you noticed in the photos, this party room did not have any tables nor chairs and everyone just sat around on the floor.  I was told they could arrange to have chairs inside, but I doubted they could fit any tables in because it would obstruct the interactive projector game.  So I would recommend booking this room if you are just looking at having a small gathering with minimal food (at most just some drinks and simple finger food).

Package B was $450 $460 for 15 kids (and $25 for each additional kid) and included the use of the the larger party room only (the one with the tables and chairs).  If you are looking at serving food (as in proper meals, not just finger food), you will probably need to book this party room for your guests to be able to sit down and eat properly.  Booking this room, however, does not give you exclusive access to the interactive projector games.

Package C was $770 $780 for 25 kids (and $28 for each additional kid) and included the use of both party rooms and would be recommended for large parties (more than 20 kids).

You could also book the playground exclusively for $1750.

Standard Packages

Some parents prefer to have everything taken care of (food, decoration, games).  Fun N Laughter can provide balloons, goodie bags and bottled drinks under their ‘Standard Package’.  The price of the Standard Packages will be:

  • Package A $398
  • Package B $498
  • Package C $865

You can also get them to help you cater finger food from Delifrance.

Party Time Slots

Each party time slot was 2.5 hours, which I felt was a good timing with sufficient time to play and eat without feeling too rushed.  (Currently most other indoor playgrounds‘ party time slots are 2 hours.)  They had 3 party time slots each day: 11am to 1.30pm, 2.30pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8.30pm, just nice for lunch / tea / dinner parties (whichever you prefer).

It’s me again! This post made me want to host a party there..was wondering if my son whose turning 3 will enjoy it with the active play as he’s recently began to appreciate the active structures at amazonia and fidgets grandstand. Have also sent you a FB PM…. :)

Hi, I’ve replied your FB PM. But in case other readers have a similar question, let me just address your question here as well. The party we had was for 2 year olds and we had similar concern before the party about whether or not active play was suitable for such young children. In the end they all had a lot of fun at this playground. Not only were they able to move around the active play area, they also had fun with the interactive projector and little toys in the smaller party room. I believe your 3 year old would enjoy himself there too. :)
