When I’m out with my kids, I consciously pick places that are kids-friendly. My mantra:
Bored kids = Cranky kids = Crappy outing
So considering Great Singapore Sale GSS 2015 starts tomorrow, let me prepare you with a list of 5 most kids-friendly shopping malls in Singapore (imo)!
Westgate has the most amazing FREE rooftop playground in Singapore called Westgate Wonderland. It has separate section dedicated to toddlers.
There are large active play structures for older children.
And even a water play area!
Westgate Kids Club
If the weather plays you out, there is Westgate Kids Club. (Minimum spending required to enter.) At Westgate Kids Club, there is a fully air-conditioned play room so kids can play happily rain or shine. And children aged 7 and above can be dropped off!
They can also go outdoors to the Alice-In-Wonderland themed outdoor play area if the weather is good!
Kids can go on an automated animal ride around the shopping mall, operated by Zoomoov! (Fees apply)
Smiley World Choo Choo Train
Choo Chooo! Do your kids love train rides? If they do, they would be thrilled to hop on the Choo Choo Train that goes around the ground floor of Westgate! (Fees apply)
Westgate Social Wall
I super LOVE Westgate Social Wall. Start by taking a funny photo and decorating it with the stickers available.
When you’re done, flick it up to the Social Wall! Your kids will be super amused to see their photo up there!
And here are some of my favourite social wall moments. You can tell we’ve been coming Westgate a lot!
Nursing Room & Children’s Toilet
Westgate has a well-equipped baby care room with private breastfeeding areas.
There are also family toilets with short toilet bowls and sinks for kids.
Free Stroller Rental
If you did not bring your own stroller and your kid gets tired, no worries. You can rent a stroller for FREE at Westgate!
Information on Westgate:
Address: Westgate Level 4, 3 Gateway Drive Singapore 608532
Getting There: Westgate is directly linked to Jurong East MRT (EW24 / NS1)
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm
#2 Suntec City Mall
Cool De Sac
Polliwogs is another one of my favourite indoor playgrounds in Singapore! It differs from Cool De Sac as it focuses on active play. Kids can have hours of fun crawling through tunnels and over bridges and other obstacles!
They also have a dedicated toddler zone here.
Marche branch at Suntec City Mall has a FREE playground for kids! So if you are tired from walking around the sprawling mall, you can pop in for a drink while your kids enjoy themselves at the play area. Of course if you are hungry, Marche has a wide variety of food for you to choose from.
Free Floor Games
Right outside Polliwogs, you can find two floor games. One is Snakes and Ladders game and the other Hopscotch. My 4 year old is super into hopscotch and he loves jumping around here!
Toys R Us
All kids LOVE Toys R Us! When the kids get lethargic, pop by Toys R Us and watch their battery recharge immediately. The problem is… getting them out.
Information on Suntec City:
Address: 3 Temasek Boulevard, Singapore 038983
Getting There: Suntec City Mall is linked to Esplanade MRT (CC3) and Promenade MRT (CC4 / DT15)
#3 The Grandstand
Fidgets is one of the earliest indoor playgrounds in Singapore and has undergone major renovations in 2013 to keep up with the game. It remains one of the most popular indoor playgrounds to date!
They have a dedicated toddler zone.
Kiddy Fun is a newer indoor playground that opened in 2012 when Turf City was rebranded as The Grandstand. It is quite different from Fidgets World. Kiddy Fun playground is made up mainly of automated moving play structures.
There is also a dedicated toddler zone here.
Scumptious At The Turf
Scumptious At The Turf is a relatively new restaurant at The Grandstand. Here, kids can dine for FREE! And there is a play area for them – no additional fees!
Latte E Miele
Latte E Miele is an Artisan Gelato cafe. If gelato itself if not enough to entice your kids, then the FREE playground within the cafe should!
Treehouse Cafe was the first eatery to open at The Grandstand offering free play area for kids. It took over the premises of once-legendary Sol Playground Cafe. Their two-storey play area has enough to keep kids entertained for a long time! Though I feel their food needs improvement if they want to keep up with the competition.
Information on The Grandstand:
Address: 200 Turf Club Road Singapore 287994
Getting There: Shuttle buses are available from Clementi MRT / Toa Payoh MRT and Botanic Gardens MRT. > Click here for details <

Opening Hours: 10am – 10m
#4 City Square Mall
Fun N Laughter
Fun N Laughter is a one-stop shop and play destination at City Square Mall. You can shop for pretty cool Pororo and Tayo Bus toys outside. And if you walk past the toy rack, you will find an indoor playground!
They have a toddler’s play room with some toys and a pretty cool projector game!
Petite Park is another indoor playground located at City Square Mall. As the name suggests, this playground is catered more for younger children.
City Square Mall has a FREE outdoor playground. So if you don’t wish to pay for indoor playgrounds and don’t mind basking in the sun, head out there for a dose of Vit-D!
Just like Westgate, you can find Zoomoov at City Square Mall, where your kids can go on an animal ride!
Toys R Us
Once again, Toys R Us! You can’t go wrong with a mall with Toys R Us.
Free Stroller Rental
At City Square Mall, you can rent a stroller or a kiddy cab for your kids – absolutely FREE!

Singkids is an indoor playground that is pretty similar to Kiddy Fun at The Grandstand. You will find many automated moving structures here, as well as a small active play zone.
Let your kids go wild at Polliwogs indoor playground on Level 3 of Vivocity. They will be busy sliding, crawling through tunnels and climbing past obstacles!
There is a toddler zone at Polliwogs Vivocity branch where kids can go for a spin, literally.
Cookie & Monkey Kids Lounge
Looking to drop your kids off while you do your shopping? Head to Cookie & Monkey Kids Lounge! Staff will keep your kids occupied in the playroom stuffed with toys. (Drop-off fee applies.)
On Level 2 of Vivocity, you can find an open-air playground that is free for the kids to play at.
Rooftop Water Feature
On the rooftop of Vivocity is a popular waddling area for kids to run around and get wet!
Toys R Us
For the third time, Toys R Us! It seems Toys R Us and Kids-friendly shopping malls are almost synonyms.
