Is there a nursing room at Singapore Sports Hub?
My friends have been asking me this question, since they know I blog about nursing rooms in Singapore. I have visited Singapore Sports Hub quite a few times and have never came across one. Which I found extremely perplexing. How can someone spend $1.3billion (according to WIKI) constructing this sports hub and not think of including a nursing room??
Until my most recent visit to Kallang Wave, I FINALLY came across these rooms that I guess you can consider to be nursing rooms. Because they threw a chair in there for anyone who needs to sit down to nurse.
If I have maligned them and there is actually a better nursing room somewhere at Singapore Sports Hub, please enlighten me.
Kallang Wave Nursing Room Location
The nursing rooms can be found on both Level 1 and 2, near the toilets.
The nursing room on Level 1 can be a bit tricky to locate. Look for this sign that points you down a corridor towards the toilet / diaper-changing facility.
As you walk along the spooky corridor, look out for the toilet sign again. Turn LEFT when you see it. You will come face to face with a door leading to an even eerier corridor. Just go through it.
You will find a bomb-shelter lookalike room with a diaper-changing sign on the door. That’s the nursing room.
The nursing room on the second floor is a lot more straightforward. Just look for the toilets and you should see a similar door.
Kallang Wave Nursing Room Description
The nursing room here is bare minimal. It is essentially just a diaper-changing room with a chair thrown inside. The chair (I’m assuming is for nursing) is right next to the diaper-changing table. There is no separation. But the whole room can be locked.
The bin is right next to the diaper-changing table, which means right next to the chair for nursing. Tough luck. To make matters worse, it is an open bin. I have visited enough nursing rooms to know that open bins stink. Literally.
There is a sink and, thank goodness, soap dispenser. You will be surprised by how many diaper-changing rooms do not have soap dispensers. So give them some credit for installing one.
The nursing room on Level 2 is SLIGHTLY bigger than the one on Level 1. So you may want to go there.
Once again, if you know of any other nursing rooms at Singapore Sports Hub, please let me know. I haven’t been to every nook and cranny at Singapore Sports Hub and may have missed one. TIA.
