Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review Pinterest

During the September school holidays, we went for a staycation at Festive Hotel.  Festive Hotel is one of hotels at Resorts World Sentosa, and known to be the more family-friendly one.  So let’s check it out!

Parking at Festive Hotel

Finding the correct place to park at the HUGE carpark of Resorts World Sentosa is no mean feat.  Because there were NO direction signs inside the carpark pointing to Festive Hotel! This is because Festive Hotel is not directly linked to the carpark.  So here are directions to the nearest point in the carpark to Festive Hotel:

1) Go to the WEST Carpark.  You will be entering from the basement level.

2) Follow signs to Convention Centre / Hard Rock Hotel.

3) Go up to LEVEL 1 of the carpark.  This light green SS 09 zone is the nearest zone to the lift lobby.

4) Park as near to this green lobby for the convention centre as you can.

5) Go into the above lobby and take the lift up to LEVEL 2.  Then EXIT the building and turn LEFT.

Enter Festive Hotel from the side entrance as shown in the photo above.

When traveling with kids, there is nothing more welcoming when you enter a hotel lobby than to find a play area for kids! Here are Festive Hotel, there was a Lego shop at the lobby, providing Lego tables to keep the kids entertained while the parents check-in!

Official check-in time was 3pm and check-out time was 12 noon.  We arrived at about 2pm and were delighted to be able to check-in right away!

Around the Hotel

There was a strong orchid theme throughout Festive Hotel.  Orchid btw is Singapore’s National Flower.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 09

You can find the orchid on the carpets.

And in the lifts.

Deluxe Room

During our first stay, we booked the deluxe room which only had 1 king bed.  Kids aged 12 and below could stay for free if they were using existing bedding.

If you need more space, you can either book adjoining rooms, or book their Family Room.  Below is a photo of our family room during our second stay here.

The toilet was spacious, but it didn’t have a bath tub.  Which was pretty disappointing for the kids, because the one thing they looked forward to in hotel stays was to soak in a bath tub.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 18

The room had a balcony.  But we were struck by haze when we were there so we didn’t bother much with the balcony.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 19

I think our room was supposed to have a view of the cable cars (which would have been pretty cool).  But the cable car was not running while we were there?! Maybe due to the haze.  Anyway here is the night scenery from our room:

Hot water flask, bottled water and some tea / coffee / milo sachets were provided.  There was no mini bar (not that I ever used one in any of my hotel stays).

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 22

If you need some snacks, there was a snack vending machine next to the lift lobby.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 12

Together with the snack vending machine, you can also find the ice machine.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 13

On the television, there were movies-on-demand.   Selection was nothing to rave about, I have seen better.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 23

I know I also complained about crappy movie selection when I was at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson.  You know what? I think I should that take complaint back.  Because at least the moves there were free.  Here at Festive Hotel, the movies were chargeable.  The kids wanted to watch Transformers, but it cost a whopping  $19.26!

Festive Hotel Swimming Pool

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 25

Since there was no bath tub nor free movies, we decided to get out of the room in spite of the haze to head down to the swimming pool.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 26

The swimming pool here was open from 7am to 8pm daily (except Wednesdays where it is open from 9am).

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 25

There was a water play area next to the swimming pool.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 27

Since we were only here for a day, we didn’t swim here and headed for the more famous swimming pool at Hard Rock Hotel.

Hard Rock Hotel Swimming Pool

Update: Hard Rock Hotel Swimming Pool is now only accessible to guests of Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, and not guests of other hotels at Resorts World Sentosa such as Festive Hotel.  We have kept the information on the Hard Rock Hotel pool below for reference, should the pool be a deciding factor for you between choosing between staying at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore and Festive Hotel.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 28

Guests of Festive Hotel were free to use the swimming pool at Hard Rock Hotel.  Use the side exit (near the lift lobby) of Festive Hotel to get to Hard Rock Hotel.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 29

The pool here was open from 7am to 8pm daily.  There was a towel counter right beside the entrance to the swimming pool, so no need to bring your own towels.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 30

And welcome to Hard Rock Hotel’s superb swimming pool – which looked more like a beach!!

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 32

There was a water play area and a slide beside the pool.  But the slide was not open when we were there. (Bummer.)  The kids had a blast at the water play area – literally!

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 33

Okay, here’s one more photo to prove that MF was actually perfectly happy and having loads of fun:

And so was the little one!

Pool Bar

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 39

As it turns out, the water play area was not the most enticing part of the swimming pool at Hard Rock Cafe.  It was the pool bar.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 36

The kids had a swell time sitting at the pool bar, sipping orange juice and eating nuggets!

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 37

And of course, not forgetting the fries.  LOL!

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 38

Kids Club

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 41

At Hard Rock Hotel, you can also find a Kids Club where you can drop off your children.  Staff will be there to conduct activities for your children.

Opening Hours for Kids Club: 10am-10pm Daily
(Last registration at 9pm)

Charges: $12 per hour per child

Minimum Age Requirement: 3 years old

Getting to the Casino / Attractions

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 14

There was a shopping arcade stretching between the various hotels at Resorts World Sentosa.  To get to the attractions and casino, walk along the row of shops until you hit the escalator going down.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 15

Take a ride down the fancy escalator…

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 16

And voila! You have arrived at the Casino!

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 46

To get to other attractions, make your way out to the forum where you will find escalators to go back up to the street level where the attractions are.

Free Night Time Shows

If you are at Resorts World Sentosa with kids, chances are you won’t be heading to the casino at night.  But don’t forget to catch the following shows – they are FREE!

Crane Dance

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 42

Crane Dance takes place at 9pm at the Waterfront.  Please check the schedule online because there are some nights where the Crane Dance does not take place.

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 43

Festive Hotel Singapore Resorts World Sentosa Review 44

The other show to catch is Lake of Dreams which takes place at 9.30pm at Festive Walk.  Again, do check the schedule online to see if it is on while you are there.

Bummer there wasn’t a bathtub! That’s what I look forward to during hotel stays as well haha.. so Festive Hotel guests can use the pool, and Kids Club, at Hard Rock Hotel??

    • bumblebeemum says:

I’m not sure why it’s so difficult for hotels at RWS to install bath tubs. I stayed at Hotel Michael before and they didn’t have bath tubs too! 🙁 I think I’ve been spoilt rotten by Japan where bath tubs are almost a given.

And yes, guests at Festive Hotel can access Hard Rock’s pool and kids club.

  2. Phoebe says:

This is so helpful! Thank you for suggesting the place to park the car as we have booked our room in November! ^_^ Can’t wait to stay in Festive Hotel!

  3. Equarius Hotel has bathtub and its free-standing type. Yes yes the carpark is not linked. It was so hard to locate the hotel. Now I expert le. Hahahah

  4. mummybean says:

I’ve never managed to book a room at Festive Hotel (or any of the other RWS hotels really). Doesn’t sound like I’m missing much! My sis stayed at Equarius earlier in the year and I think it was more luxurious. My fav hotel on Sentosa is Capella. If only it didn’t cost an arm and a leg to stay there!

    • bumblebeemum says:

I guess staying at RWS hotels is more for the convenience than anything. I like the idea of being able to just walk back to the hotel room after watching the Crane Dance and Lake of Dreams show. And just walk down to USS the next morning. I didn’t expect to be paying for luxury (I would go elsewhere, probably not in Singapore, for that). The location and the pool (the Hard Rock one) were good enough for me.

  5. We really enjoyed our first family staycation last year at RWS Hard Rock Café Hotel, there was too much to do actually! haha Festive Hotel looks much bigger than the rooms at Hard Rock and the pool is more peaceful too!

  6. I am just loving seeing these fun kids rooms at hotels! We tend to travel on the cheap and as such the hotels we pick don’t have these fun rooms, but I would definitely love to do a trip sometime staying in a place with a fun kids room and kids club, looks so much fun! And lego in the hotel lobby = genius!

    • bumblebeemum says:

Yes, I’m extremely budget conscious when travelling so I usually opt for no-frills hotels. But just for 1 or 2 night in an entire trip, I would like to spend a bit more for a more memorable experience, especially for the kids. I’m sure I would look back fondly on these experiences when the kids are grown up.

  7. That’s quite an expensive price for a movie! :p
