Previously, I blogged about my pretty enjoyable visit to Charlie Brown Cafe Singapore at One KM. So when I was at Orchard Road one day, I decided to pop by Charlie Brown Cafe at Orchard Cineleisure for lunch.
As I mentioned the last time, MY was a big fan of Snoopy, not Charlie Brown. When we arrived, he gave his long-time-no-see friend, Joe Cool, a big hug!
Charlie Brown was clearly neglected.
There was a giant Charlie Brown face on the floor, but MY didn’t bat an eyelid and walked right past it. Kid was definitely NOT a Charlie Brown fan.
Charlie Brown Cafe Orchard Cineleisure Decor
As with all themed cafe visits, I planted MY into an available table (lots of them here on a weekday afternoon), placed our food order and went around to take photos of the decor.
MY was entertained by the TV screens showing Peanuts cartoon in the meantime.
There were bits and pieces of Charlie Brown and friends’ decor around the little cafe.
Personally, I preferred the decor at the One KM branch. I miss the dining tables with Peanuts characters and attractive ceiling lights there!
Charlie Brown Cafe Orchard Cineleisure Food
Flipping through the menu, there wasn’t a large selection of themed food. The themed food were mostly the desserts and drinks.
I ordered a mandatory Charlie Brown Cappucino ($5.70+)
And the cheese fries ($5.80+) that we super loved from the One KM branch.
But I felt that the cheese fries at the One KM branch was better than the ones here. They were more generous with the cheese over there. I remembered at One KM, the cheese was oozing out from the side of the basket and we still had cheese leftover after finishing our fries! But over here, after we wiped off the top layer of fries, there wasn’t much cheese left.
Since we were here for lunch, we ordered a main dish, Tomato Risotto with grilled chicken ($12.80+). The serving was HUGE, though the taste was pretty bleah. They need to work on either the presentation or the taste yo. If you know me, when I visit themed cafes, I don’t really care for the taste of the food – provided it LOOKS good. This neither tasted nor looked good.
Maybe I should have stuck to the desserts which at least looked quite cute.
Note: Charlie Brown Cafe’s menu is subject to GST, but they currently do not charge for service charge.
There was a rack of Charlie Brown & friends merchandise for sale at the cafe. On the same rack, there were some Peanuts comics that I wasn’t too sure if they were for sale or for reading inside the cafe? They look a bit old to be for sale. But then again, who knows, maybe they are collector’s items? Muahaha…
If you are a fan of Charlie Brown or Snoopy or just themed cafes in general, sure, hop over to this cafe for the experience. I wouldn’t mind popping in for a coffee and cake and photo opportunities (which is kind of the point of visiting themed cafes, isn’t it?). But if you are looking for a proper meal, I suggest you head elsewhere. Orchard Road has tons of good food, I wouldn’t waste my stomach space on that risotto.
