Starting to make plans for the March school holidays yet? Don’t forget to make time for the Children’s Festival at Gardens by the Bay. Packed with free programmes and activities, there’s plenty to do in Gardens by the Bay every day of the holiday!
PERFORMANCES & PLAYS
LED Performance: Fairytale Galaxy
Fairytale Galaxy is a futuristic take on the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. Look forward to an exciting child-friendly performance of circus acts, theatre, dance, music and LED lighting. What’s more, you are invited to join in the Gravity Free Ball, and dance along with royalty decked out in lighted costumes!
Children’s Talent Showcase
This children’s talent showcase will feature different performances highlighting the many talents of our younger generation.
Interactive Storytelling: The Magic Flower Fairies
Amidst the beautiful setting of the Flower Dome, our storytellers will enchant audiences with the story of The Magic Flower Fairies – fairies with magical powers who live among the flowers. Young audiences will love the chance to take part in the telling and re-enacting of this tale, and in the process, learn about appreciating and working with each other’s unique gifts and qualities for the common good.
Water Play Performance: Rainbows in the Water
A beautiful musical dance performance inspired by the classic tale The Rainbow Fish, a story about selflessness, friendship and love. The show will incorporate the central water feature in the Children’s Garden to create the magical underwater world of sea creatures and plants.
Children’s Play: Clumsy Claws and Friends
Snippety-snap! Nipper is a clumsy crab. His huge claws always get in the way! When he tries to play catch-the-bubble with his friends, he accidentally pops the bubble. When everyone plays tag, Nipper trips on one of his claws. And when Nipper and his pals play hide-and-seek, Nipper’s big claws smash his hiding place! A fun dramatization of Ruth Calloway’s book “Clumsy Crab”, this performance will also feature many delightful sea creatures!
Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO)
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra and its Associate Conductor Jason Lai will showcase favourite orchestral works at Gardens by the Bay. Experience the Waltz and Minuet through the ages with notable pieces such as Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular “Swan Lake Suite” and “Yumeji’s Theme” from Wong-Kar Wai’s beloved classic movie, “In the Mood for Love”!
