Flower Dome is one of two cooled conservatories at Gardens by the Bay. Maintained at the temperature of 23 – 25 degrees celsius 24/7, it is the largest glass greenhouse in the world as listed in the 2015 Guinness World Records. Its floral display is seasonal, with time-limited events throughout the year to celebrate various festivities such as Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Halloween and Christmas, reflecting Singapore’s melting pot of cultures.
This Christmas, the theme is Christmas Toyland. The displays revolve around a storyline of teddy bear Santa Clauses preparing for Christmas. Guests are brought on a tour of North Pole to witness the bears busy getting toys ready and finally delivery them to kids around the world.
Christmas Toyland was part of the larger Christmas Wonderland event which spread across the whole garden. There were luminarie arches, similar to what we saw around the rest of the garden, but we were there too early to see the illumination clearly.
The highlight of Christmas Toyland was an 11-metres tall Christmas Pyramid decked with toys.
This multi-tiered traditional German wooden carousel will transform into a ‘live’ stage, hosting a series of festive performances.
I shan’t bore you with more words and just share some photos we took at the various displays around the Flower Dome.
