2014 Round-up!
December 31, 2014

It’s the last day of 2014 and I figured I should get my lazy bum up and write a post to end off the year! Okay.. It’s been a lazy year for me as far as updating this blog is concerned, but it wasn’t a lazy year for me overall.  Part of the reason I didn’t blog much this year was because I went back to work part-time for a while, and I also took on a writing assignment (as in a real paid writing assignment to be published on paper, not just blogging) which took up my precious quickly-do-some-writing-after-the-kids-finally-sleep hours at night which I would otherwise have spent updating my blog.

Excuses excuses… But I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who are reading this despite my lack of updates! This year, I encountered more people coming up to ask me, “Are you bumble bee mum?” (even in Japan.. *shock*) I’m thinking.. ‘I hardly update my blog anymore and people can recognize me?!’  Because of YOU, I decided I should be more hardworking and keep my blog more updated in 2015!

2015 Resolution #1:  Update my blog more often

Okay.. So let’s look back at how Bumble Bee Mum and her kids spent 2014 (if you are interested.. If not, I guess you could close your browser now.)

We started the year with a BANG with MY’s first birthday party at Kidz Amaze Toa Payoh.

Our favourite hangout for the year was Cool De Sac which opened in March at Suntec City. I think I was there like, 20 times throughout the year.  They should give me a VVIP card or something.. :p

We spent a LOT of time in Japan this year, visiting Hokkaido twice during the June and December holidays.  And I also started a Japan Travel Blog, do visit it if you are planning to visit Japan. 🙂

The indoor playground scene in Singapore was absolutely buzzing this year.  Besides Cool De Sac, other new playgrounds that opened this year included:

Polliwogs at Vivocity (Read about it on this post)

Polliwogs at Suntec City (Read about it on this post.)20140829_203044

Happy Willow at One KM (Read about it on this post):

Hokey Pokey at The Seletar Mall (Read about it on this post)

Kaboodle Kids at East Coast Park (Read about it in this post):

If you know of any other indoor playground that opened this year, leave a comment to let me and the rest of the readers know!

2015 Resolution #2:  Visit the newly opened Happy Willow and Hokey Pokey! DONE!

Other than indoor playgrounds, we also have a new attraction for kids, KidsSTOP at Singapore Science Centre. This is at the top of my to-visit list… Ah, so many places to visit, so little time (and money >_<).

2015 Resolution #3:  Visit KidsStop DONE! (Read about it here.)

Trick Art is all the rage this year.  I love Trick Art and have visited Trick Art museum in Korea (read about my visit in this post) and Japan (read about my visit in this post).  All of a sudden, BOOM, two Trick Art museums opened in Singapore!  One is the Trick Eye Museum at Resorts World Sentosa and the other is ALive Museum at Suntec City.

2015 Resolution #4:  Visit the Trick Art Museums

We have also been travelling across the Causeway a lot this year.  At the start of the year, we stayed in the then-newly opened Legoland Malaysia hotel during MY’s first birthday as kind of a continuation from his Lego birthday party. (What?! I didn’t blog about this? I’m seriously procrastination QUEEN.)

2015 Resolution #5:  STOP PROCRASTINATING!

MF and MY also conquered indoor playgrounds at JB, including one that opened in February at Sutera Mall.

We also visited the newly opened Angry Birds Activity Park at Komtar JBCC (read about it on this post).

And just before the year ends, MF celebrated his 4th birthday!

MF Birthday

Looking back, it has been a pretty happening year, hasn’t it? Here’s looking forward to 2015 and more excitement and fun for the kids!
