During our time when we were kids, when it comes to a place where we could dine AND play, the first place that would come to our mind would be McDonalds. But with space crunch, we are seeing less McDonalds with play areas. However, the space crunch did not seem to stop Marche from setting up play areas for kids at their branches in Singapore! With playgrounds and Picky Kids Meals, it’s no wonder Marche restaurants are PACKED with families with kids, especially on weekends.
Marche Suntec City Playground
The playground at Marche Suntec City is the largest of all the Marche playgrounds. With a 2 storey play house, train table, bridge and activity board, it deserved a post of its own.

Marche 313 Somerset Playground
This was the very first Marche playground I discovered in Singapore. I used to bring MF here quite often when he was still a toddler. The main feature of the playground here was Heidi’s Hut – a wooden play house.
If you read my earlier post on Marche at 313 Somerset, the hut is NOT recommended for young toddlers as there are holes through while they can fall down from. But at 4 years old, MF totally loved sliding down the fireman pole here.
The little brother was mostly stuck at the train table. Yes, the train table is still around, though with a lot less tracks than 3 years ago. And I was pretty amused by the little log stool that kids could sit down on to play.
The wooden rocking horse has been replaced with a new one. And all the other random toys they used to have here are gone. Instead, they have an equally random table and bench occupying the play area.

Marche Vivocity Playground
While much smaller than the playground at Suntec City, the playground at Marche Vivocity has a slide. And sometimes, all you need is a slide to keep those kids entertained, don’t you agree?
Below the slide, there was a little playhouse. It didn’t look very fun nor exciting to me, but somehow the 2 year old seemed to enjoy it.
And they had the same random table and bench as 313 Somerset branch here.
Beside the playground, there was a little old cable car cabin. MY refused to go inside for some reason, but he sure seemed to think that the door was very fun to play with.

Picky Kids Meal
If you would like to get kids meal for your children, you need to tell the staff at the entrance who would issue you a special Marche card for the kids meal. They will only issue it to you if you have a kid between 3 – 10 years old or under 1.2m in height.
When I was at 313 Somerset branch, the staff gave us a mini magnetic board game together with the card. But I didn’t receive the game at the Vivocity branch. Not sure why the inconsistency.
The Kids Meal cost $10.90+ each. There were 5 choices:
- Rosti with sausage
- Savoury Crepe
- Sweet Crepe
- Large sized soup
I have tried their rosti, savoury crepe and pizza kids meals. I found the crepe and rosti portions quite generous. The rosti, especially, looked pretty much the same as the adult rosti! But the pizza (sorry lost the photo) was significantly smaller than the adult pizza.
The kids meal came with a juice or soft drink. The juice I received at 313 Somerset branch was exactly the same as the one the adults got. But the juice at Vivocity came in a kids cup.
At Marche, you can find a special trolley with a child seat in front and a space to put your tray behind. This is great for us SAHMs who dine there alone with kids and need to bring our toddler along to order food!
High chairs are available, but I am not a fan of Marche’s high chairs at all.
You can also find Baby Stations with a microwave for heating up food or milk.
Marche at 313 Somerset has a diaper-changing table within the restaurant (inside the female toilet), but the other two do not.
Marche is great place to hangout with friends for weekend brunches. On weekend mornings, they have a pretty decent brunch menu with classic brunch items such as eggs benedict.
On weekdays, I love going there for their weekday lunch sets. The branch at 313 Somerset particularly catered to my needs as a SAHM dining alone with kids, because it had a toilet and diaper-changing facility WITHIN the restaurant.
