KidZania Singapore – Kids activities that stretch your dollar!

There are moments in my parenting journey when my kids do certain things that make me doubt my parenting ability.  One of those moments are when I bring them to KidZania Singapore.  And they REFUSE to be doctors and policemen.

Instead, all they are interested in are making burgers, pizza and soup.  It’s like, every time we stepped into KidZania Singapore the moment it opens, EVERYONE made a beeline for the Avaiation Academy to get a queue card for their kids to be pilots.  My boys??

They would head straight for Pizza Hut.  Or KFC.  They kind of rotate between the two.  Says a lot about their ambitions.  Or maybe what kind of mother they have.  Coz frankly I’m secretly quite happy that they would rather spend their time in Pizza Hut and KFC than queuing for the Aviation Academy.

People always tell me that KidZania Singapore is SO expensive to visit.  It is.  There’s no point in denying that.

But if you see the things that we get out of our visits to KidZania Singapore, maybe you’ll start to think that… actually it’s not THAT expensive.  Because our breakfast (Pizza Hut), lunch (Soup Spoon) and dinner (KFC) is settled.  We even get drinks (Spritzer mineral water, Yakult, GROW milk).  Heck, we even have dessert (Paddle Pop ice-cream)!

Oh, and I’m not done.  We even go home with travel-friendly sized bottles of anti-bacterial soap (Lifebuoy), a souvenir photo (Canon), and toothbrush / toothpaste / mouthwash (Sunstar).  It’s like whenever the boys finish one tube of their Sunstar toothpaste, it’s time to plan our next KidZania Singapore visit.

Of course, nobody in the right mind would go to KidZania Singapore just for toothpaste which we can grab for a few dollars in the supermarket.  But it’s just one of the many things we can get from our visit.  On top of hours of pure fun for the kids (can’t say the same for the parents unfortunately).

The best part is that not all of these activities have negative economy.  (Read our beginner’s guide to KidZania Singapore to understand positive / negative economy.)  So at the end of the day, the kids often still have some KidZos left to buy a little trinket home from the Department Store!
