One day as I was walking around City Hall area, I noticed a huge Peanuts Gang banner hanging from Singapore Philatelic Museum.

I couldn’t resist popping in to have a look.  After all, entry was free for Singapore Citizens and I reckoned it wouldn’t take up much of my time.  At the entrance of the museum, there was a postman, or rather postdog (?), Snoopy waiting to welcome us!

There were two areas dedicated to this particular exhibit.  The first area was the foyer.

I was awe-struck by how beautiful the whole set-up was!  There were plenty of photo opportunities.

But we were in a museum afterall, so let’s not get carried away with taking photos. I took a look at the exhibits around the foyer first.  There were several carefully curated Peanuts comic strips relating to stamps and letters.

It’s pretty cool that they dug up super old comic strips, like the first time Charlie Brown wrote to his pen-pal.

Or the first comic strip on stamps.

And the first appearance of Violet – the stamp collector in the Peanuts gang.

Other than comic strips, there were also several First Day Covers featuring Peanuts characters from all over the world!

There was also a section dedicated to the latest Peanuts movie.  There was even a commemorative stamp collection for the movie.

The next exhibition area was inside a room beside the foyer.

The exhibition in the room was divided into sections featuring one Peanut character each.

In each section, you will find comic strips and first day cover featuring the character.

There was also a glass shelf of Peanuts toys, such as the Snoopy World Tour collection by McDonald.

If you are a stamp collector, don’t forget to check out the shop at the entrance to pick up some Peanuts stamps!

Overall, I found the whole set-up very beautifully done and there were lots to see.   Letter writing is a common theme in the Peanuts comics, so it was nice to see the selection of comic strips depicting these scenes in addition to just stamps and first day covers.  If you are a Peanuts fan, hop down to Singapore Philatelic Museum before the exhibit ends on 30 April 2016.
