How would you like to have a Gingerbread House to decorate your home this Christmas? Better yet, one that is made by your own kids – Surely that would impress your guests!
Good news. The popular Kids Gingerbread House Workshop at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is back again!
We were invited by Shangri-La Hotel Singapore for a preview of their Gingerbread House Workshop this year – and gosh, the boys were in for such a treat!
The boys were super excited when they found out we were going for a gingerbread workshop at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, because they still remembered how much fun (or maybe how much candies) they had during the Easter Workshop they attended at the hotel earlier in the year.
Once we arrived, MF immediately put on his Shangri-La Hotel apron and reindeer antlers (which you can bring home after the workshop) and got to work. He gingerly (pun intended) assembled the house with the help of a chef.
MY, on the other hand, ran STRAIGHT for the table of candy decorations!
There was a wide range of elaborate Christmas figurines, on top of marshallows, rainbow sprinkles, M&Ms, jelly beans etc, that the kids could use to decorate their gingerbread houses.
After he had filled up cups and cups of decorations, MY finally settled down to start assembling his gingerbread house too! Of course with the help of a chef.
After the gingerbread houses were assembled, the chefs taught the kids how to put on the decorations and left them to exercise their creativity!
After the kids was satisfied with their decorations, or convinced that there was absolutely no more space to stick another jelly bean or M&M, they sprinkled some frosting on the top to create a snowy effect!
The ‘snow’ absolutely transformed the gingerbread houses. I almost felt like I was having a white christmas. Almost.
And tadah… They were done! This gingerbread house workshop was a lot faster and easier than the chocolate mushroom workshop earlier in the year. And don’t you think this gingerbread house would look AWESOME as a centrepiece on your dining table this Christmas?
During or after the workshop, parents (and the kids too of course), can help yourselves to some light refreshments and drinks at the side.
If you would like to bring home your own gingerbread house and enjoy some delicious pastries prepared by the chefs at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore this holidays, sign up now for a spot in this year’s Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop!
